A rare late 17th Century bureau veneered in burr oak, the banded fall opening to reveal a well fitted interior featuring columns dividing pigeon holes with a central mirrored 'temple' having scagliola floor inlaid with a coronet and the date 1698, the sides of this piece are also veneered in good burr oak. The handles appear to be original, although re fixed. The bun feet are original.
